Why is there a gap between the two parts of the AERO PLUG?

It is completely normal for there to be a gap between the two parts of the AERO PLUG after installation.

This gap is intentional and part of the system design.

The two plastic inserts should not be tightened against each other. The clamping force must be applied to the handlebar.

The plastic inserts are sandwiched between the two metal parts in order to perfectly match the shape of your handlebar and ensure effective clamping.

The visible gap between the two parts ensures that the clamping force is applied to the handlebar and not to the AERO PLUG components themselves.

It is therefore normal for this gap to remain visible after installation.

The only important point is to respect the torque specifications indicated in the installation manual.
